This ongoing project is the vision of a pair of UK-based illustrators with the initial aim of the production of a book. 'The Legend of Alintoo Island' follows the journey of two ecologists and their exploits when they happen upon a previously undiscovered island.
The book will be of an informative nature, based upon fictional discoveries which will aim to tell a loose narrative through the images and notes made and objects found by the characters. Its presentation will be that of a visual catalogue, sometimes photographically replicating the scenes of specific moments in the characters' journey and at other times communicating through drawings and short notes. This type of presentation will leave plenty of scope for the audience to fill the adventure with their own imaginations and narratives, which will give everyone a somewhat unique experience of the book. The visual layout and simple approach to the project means that it will be easily applied to a young audience, but a thoroughly comic and subtly mysterious aspect running throughout, will give it an interesting appeal to adults too.
